5 ways to prep your curls for spring

Spring has sprung and we are more than ready to embrace the warmer weather. Here are 5 tips to get your curls spring-ready.

Are you as over with the winter as we are? With spring in full bloom-ish, it's time to welcome the warmer weather (finally) and give your curls the attention they deserve.

Frizz + Co. has listed our 5 tips to prep your curls for spring:

Deep Condition

After a long, cold winter, your curly hair might be in need of some extra TLC (special shout-out to the Canadian winter). Consider deep conditioning (i.e.: the Repairing Hair mask ) once a week to help restore your curls' natural bounce and shine.

Trim split ends

Spring is a great time to schedule a trim to get rid of any split ends that may have formed during the harsh winter. This will help keep your curls looking healthy and prevent breakage.

Use Sulfate-Free Shampoos

Consider switching to a sulfate-free shampoo to avoid stripping your hair of its natural oils.

Protect

The sun's UV rays can damage your curls causing them to become dry and brittle. Protect your curls by wearing a hat or using a hair product with UV protection.

Avoid heat styling

Hot styling tools can further dry out your curls, making them more prone to breakage. Give your curls a break this spring by ditching heat and embracing your natural curls and/or protective styling.
