Deep conditioning is an important step in maintaining healthy, hydrated, and defined curls. Here is an ultimate Frizz + Co. guide to deep conditioning curly hair:
Choose the right deep conditioner
Choosing the right product for your hair type is a key step in the deep conditioning process. Look for ingredients that hydrate and nourish (i.e.: the Repairing Hair mask features Moringa Butter full of amino and fatty acids, along with Vitamins A, C and E work to nourish, moisturize and condition the hair) and avoid any harsh chemicals (i.e.: Sulfates, Parabens and Silicones).
Cleanse your hair
Before applying the Repairing Hair Mask, cleanse your hair with a gentle sulfate-free shampoo. This will remove any buildup on your hair and scalp, allowing the deep conditioner to penetrate more deeply.
Apply the deep conditioner
Apply the deep conditioner to wet hair, focusing on the mid-lengths and ends, where curly hair tends to be the driest. Make sure to distribute the product evenly throughout your hair using a wide-tooth comb or your fingers.
Apply a source of heat
Once you've applied the Repairing Hair Mask, cover your hair with a plastic shower cap or a warm towel. The heat will help the deep conditioner to penetrate into your hair.
Leave it on for at least 30 minutes
Leave the deep conditioner on your hair for at least 30 minutes.
Rinse
Rinse your hair to remove all traces of the product. Avoid using hot water, as this can cause damage to your hair and scalp.
Style your hair as usual
Once you've rinsed out the deep conditioner, style your hair as usual.
Deep conditioning is an essential step to main healthy, bouncy curls (#sundaycurls).
